The Lincoln Sportsman’s’ Club is based in Lincoln,
Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. The object
of the club is entirely charitable, that is to arrange dinners and other
sporting and fundraising events and to donate the
net proceeds for the
encouragement and sponsorship of local sporting activities for individuals. We
are run by a committee which manages the
fundraising, functions, publicity and donations. We are governed by a set of rules and regulations which defines booking arrangements
for functions/dinners held and
membership arrangements.
The late President Alan Davey organized the first
dinner
following a wager with the then Sports Writer of the Lincolnshire Echo, Maurice
Burton. Maurice reckoned Alan couldn’t get together 100 Business/Sportsman in
Lincoln for a sporting dinner, that was a red rag to Alan, so he set about
organizing a dinner, speaker etc. The first dinner was in the Lincoln City
Supporters Club at the football ground squashed in like sardines listening to a
young Tommy Docherty.
To become a member download the

If you have joined as a member it costs £25.00 per dinner. If you are a non member it costs £32.00 per dinner. The cost of the ladies night is £27.00. both members and non members.
Yes you can pay for all the
dinners at once. As long as you send in a separate
dinner application form for each along with a separate post dated cheque for
each dinner. Each cheque will not be cashed until the dinner has taken place. It
is a good way of guaranteeing a seat at every dinner. If the rest of the table also pays in this fashion it may enable them to have a round
table on the night.
Dress at sporting dinners will
be Formal, Dinner Suits and Bow Tie.
You can nominate which party
you would like to sit with on your dinner/events booking
form. You can check this on the table plan a few
days prior to the dinner to confirm your table place, though all seats are
booked on a first come first served basis.
The menu for the night can be viewed on the
menu & table plan page.
The table plan is published in Adobe PDF format it can be downloaded here. Seating Plan.PDF

Due to the high costs of boxers expenses and catering on the night this year we are trying an additional speaker dinner at the Bentley Hotel. Please let us know your comments on this decision and whether or not you would like to see boxing back on the programme for future events.
We do have to commit to numbers for catering purposes. Cancellations by letter, email or fax (01522 525603) will be accepted up to 7 days before the start of the dinner.
All money raised by the club is donated to young sporting individuals in the Lincoln area. All donation requests vetted through the donations committee and are voted on by the full committee.
You can apply for a donation from the committee as long as you compete on an individual basis. A general rule is your sport must be an Olympic discipline. You must live within the Lincoln City or surrounding area. You can apply via e-mail to the committee giving an outline of your sporting achievements and future goals. It would also help if you could supply us with contact details of your coach/trainer.
