What is the Lincoln Sportsmans Club?

The Lincoln Sportsmans Club is based in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. The object of the club is entirely charitable, that is to arrange dinners and other sporting and fundraising events and to donate the net proceeds for the encouragement and sponsorship of local sporting activities for individuals. We are run by a committee which manages the fundraising, functions, publicity and donations. We are governed by a set of rules and regulations which defines booking arrangements for functions/dinners held and membership arrangements.

The late President Alan Davey organized the first dinner following a wager with the then Sports Writer of the Lincolnshire Echo, Maurice Burton. Maurice reckoned Alan couldnt get together 100 Business/Sportsman in Lincoln for a sporting dinner, that was a red rag to Alan, so he set about organizing a dinner, speaker etc. The first dinner was in the Lincoln City Supporters Club at the football ground squashed in like sardines listening to a young Tommy Docherty.

Yes you can pay for all the dinners at once. As long as you send in a separate dinner application form for each along with a separate post dated cheque for each dinner. Each cheque will not be cashed until the dinner has taken place. It is a good way of guaranteeing a seat at every dinner. If the rest of the table also pays in this fashion it may enable them to have a round table on the night.

Before applying please have a look at our current list of young people we have supported and ask yourself if you are of the same credibility.
