Graham Thorpe MBE made his debut for Surrey in 1988, and his international debut in 1993. He
scored a century (114 not out) in the second innings of his debut Test match,
against Australia at Trent Bridge. Developing into a very highly-regarded
player, he was named as one of the Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1998.
Thorpe hit only one four in his hundred against Pakistan at Lahore in November
2000. It also contained seven threes, 12 twos and 51 singles. He hit another
boundary before being dismissed for 118 from 301 balls. No
other batsman has scored 100 runs in a Test with just one boundary. However,
Thorpe was also a highly capable stroke-maker: during his highest Test score,
200 not out off 231 balls against New Zealand at Christchurch in 2002, he and Andrew
Flintoff compiled a partnership of 281 in 51 overs. During the 2002 season,
Thorpe had marital difficulties which were well-publicised in several tabloid
newspapers, and this seriously affected his play and his focus on the game.
Seemingly disillusioned with constant touring away from his family, he
announced his retirement from the one-day game and changed his mind several
times on whether to tour Australia, eventually pulling out of the tour
entirely. However in 2003 Thorpe, with family problems put to one side,
returned to the England team in the fifth Test against South Africa at his home
ground of The Oval, where he was warmly welcomed as a local hero with a
standing ovation. Thorpe scored an excellent 124 as England won the match to
force an unlikely series draw, and remained in the side for series victories
against Bangladesh away and at home, against the West Indies away and at home,
against New Zealand at home, and in South Africa. He played his hundredth and
final Test against Bangladesh in June 2005; in the two years between his
comeback and his retirement he scored 1635 Test runs at an average of 56.37

John Aldridge (born 18
September 1958 Liverpool, England) is a former Republic of Ireland international footballer and football manager. He was a
prolific record-breaking striker best known for his productive time with
Liverpool in the late 1980s, and for being the first man to have a penalty kick
saved in a Wembley FA Cup Final. Aldridge is now a pundit with various media
organisations - most notably with Radio City 96.7 where he summarises on the
station's Liverpool commentaries home and away.He also continues to play in the
Liverpool veterans' team.

BOBBY
GEORGE
is without doubt the most colourful, charismatic and entertaining player in the
history of darts. But what makes him so special is that he didn't pick up a
dart until he was 30 years of age! However, he might have been a late starter
but it didn't diminish his ability to dazzle all that came before him. Indeed,
he literally burst onto the professional darts scene in the late 1970's with a
natural flair and ability to enhance his larger-than-life personality 1979 was
to be the year that Bobby George announced that he had arrived as a world-class
player, with an incredible victory in the famous News Of The World Championship.
There had never been a more impressive victory before or since, as he became
the first and only player to win the title without dropping one single leg of
darts! His best of 3-leg televised victories from the Quarter-Finals onwards
took him just 93 darts in total (an average of 97) to establish him as a true
World Champion. Now the supreme master of the
spotlight, Bobby secured his place as the People's Champion in the 1980 Embassy
World Championship. Seen by millions on BBC Television, his good looks, cheeky
grin and wonderful ability as a darts player immediately established him as an
outstanding character. He beat Dave Whitcombe, Leighton Rees and Cliff
Lazarenko to produce an epic 1980 final against Eric Bristow. In what is still
regarded as one of the greatest darts matches of all time, Bobby made his first
ever entrance with sequinned shirt and candelabra. He became the Liberace of
televised darts and was in a winning position until an uncharacteristic loose
dart handed the title to Bristow. Over the years, Bobby has represented England
on 26 occasions and remains in the list of all-time Top 10 winning players for
England. Away from darts, Bobby is happily married to Marie and lives with
their two sons, Robert and Richard in the 18-bedroom George Hall, which he
built himself.

Dean Richards is the most capped Rugby Union number 8 in the
world! He played in 48 Internationals, including being in 3 world cup squads,
also appearing for the Lions in 6 test matches in 1989 and 1993. He changed the
way that the game was played from the back row, he ran lines that were
considered strange at the time, and had an unprecedented ability to be just
where the ball was due to arrive, and do exactly what his team required. Add to
this, tactical and leadership ability perhaps lacking in today's highly coached
teams, and a willingness to be in where the action was the toughest, one can
appreciate how much he is missed by the England team of today. Born and bred in
Leicestershire he played for Leicester 314 times, captained them for 4 seasons,
and scored more than 100 tries from the back row! He was part of the sides that
won the league titles in 1988, and in 1995, as captain.

Allan Clarke, nicknamed
"Sniffer", played for Walsall, Fulham, Leicester City, Leeds United and Barnsley,
and won 19 international caps for England. He was one of English football's
greatest goal scorers who shot to fame in the much-admired and feared Leeds United
team of the late 1960s and early 1970s. He was briefly Lincoln City manager for six months but he was sacked on November
30, 1990 to be replaced by Steve Thompson

Paul Reaney was a
long-serving full back with the hugely successful Leeds United team of the
1960s and 1970s. Reaney
wore the No.2 shirt for Leeds with distinction and, in a team renowned for its
hard approach to the game, with admirably little trouble caused over an
impressive 15 year period. Paul would go on to make over 550 appearances for
Leeds scoring 6 goals. He also represented his country 3 times. Reaney's appearance for England has assumed greater importance in recent
years as even though he was regarded as "white" during his playing
career, he is viewed by many as "black" or mixed race now. His
England debut was nine years before that of Viv Anderson, who is widely
credited as the first black man to play for England.
